Description

“Tall Tales”

Mother figure with siblings.
Ceramic sculpture “Tall tales” or is it silent whispers?
The wonders of innocence.
The secrets between siblings that they choose to withhold from their parents.
Precious moments from the past.
I hope they will never be gone.

This sculpture.

My ancestors were from Russia.

So in the sculpture, the way dress played a part was important.

It is the vehicle I chose as my way to describe that fact.

The mother figure she is extending her arms as an expression of protection for her two young children.

The art of being open-minded
The ability to stand up for yourself;
and to articulate your needs calmly and positively.
It’s more comfortable to like or dislike abstract art, as any attempt at representational.

Art is always prone to rapid criticism.
The newness of the idea is the chief reason for our criticism of

whimsical, bizarre sculptures.

Bubbling up from one’s unconscious like twisted fairy tales.

I hope my sculpture can be seen positively.

Making communication within a specialised subject so acceptable.
rather than dismiss it as mere idealism.
Are they stuff of whimsy?

Whimsical sculptures however conjure that irrepressible childlike spirit.-structures that are firstly representational.

Having lots of detail while the others are so freely interpreted designed.

Art need not be sombre and morose.  In addition, art can be whimsical and carefree.

Also lighthearted and besides that a delight in our depictions of the fleeting joys that fill our lives when we least expect them.
Babies, animals, laughter and affection, lush shapes, and bursts of colour: all are the stuff of whimsy.

The two-part sculpture measures mother and smallest child 50 x 54x 16 cm.
The separate child sculpture size:26 x17 x5 cm
